Position Overview

An innovative company specializing in advanced simulation technologies is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role involves creating digital twins of heavy-lift vessels, subsea construction simulations, and full mission simulators according to customer needs. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of realistic simulation models for dynamics and physics events occurring during marine operations.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
• Design, develop, and implement algorithms and simulations of physics/life-like events optimized for real-time physics calculations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new simulation solutions seamlessly into the codebase.
• Participate actively in technical decision-making for the direction of real-time simulation software.
• Lead the development of various areas of the simulation platform.

Experience and Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Deep experience with Java programming language with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Excellent understanding of software design, object-oriented programming, data structures, caching, and multi-threaded programming.
• Good understanding of algorithms and the ability to interpret technical specifications.
• Experience working with Git, CI/CD, and other modern build tools.
• Quality-driven focus with experience in automatic testing.
• Ability to identify and implement best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams in various development methodologies, collaborating in a cross-functional manner.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience with JNI/JNA.
• Experience working with cloud environments (AWS a plus) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Background in engineering, mathematics, or physics (hydrodynamics or real-time).
• Experience with simulation solutions (e.g., MATSim) and expertise in customizing and implementing mobility simulations.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Experience in building simulations.

• Extensive experience with Unity 3D in game engines.

• Expertise in real-time, high-traffic systems (e.g., MMO or multi-projector).
• Proficiency in shaders, GPU, and 3D file formats.
• Strong TDD and Unity Test Framework skills.
• Expertise in serialization and modularizing Unity projects.
• Proven experience with WebGL or similar technologies.

• Work in close alignment with the other project team members and stakeholders to fully understand background and business requirements of each party and consult them in their activities.
• Translate the collected business requirements into technical concepts, especially regarding the Generative AI frameworks and architecture.
• Drive the sustainable implementation of our new GenAI-oriented Supply Chain Intelligence platform, including:
• Professional software development and implementation by utilizing the company´s standard DevOps platforms / libraries
• Construction, deployment, and implementation of microservices on the Microsoft Azure Cloud

• you will discuss data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI and workflow features with users and translate the collected business requirements into technical concepts for Generative AI and machine learning (ML) engineers and UI developers.
• As a Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of front-end applications that meet the needs of the user. In this role, you will discuss application features with users, , and write the code for the final web application.
• To ensure success as a Generative-AI-inspired Frontend Engineer, you should have in-depth knowledge of of front-end languages and excellent visualization skills, combined with excellent skills to understand the power of Generative AI to interact with the user in Frontends.
• You will implement functional requirements for the application that meet the needs of the internal clients of our Supply Chain decision intelligence platform.

FRG are working with a specialist GCP Partner who are experts in Google Cloud Migration, Optimisation, Cost Optimisation and Managed Service. They are seeking a proactive SRE experienced in Google Cloud to take ownership of this function and build out within the business.


Role & Responsibilities

• Ensure high availability and reliability of software/infrastructure, improve SLA's and improving reliability of systems
• Design, implement, maintain monitoring and alerting (mainly in Datadog) and GCP Cloud Monitoring
• Debug and troubleshooting
• On call rotation to respond o incidents
• Develop and maintain runbooks/playbooks for incident response
• Testing
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Config Management (Ansible, Helm..)

Skills & Qualifications

• GCP experience is mandatory for this vacancy, notable services include Cloud Run, BigQuery, GKE etc)
• 3+ years experience as an SRE
• CI/CD
• Experience setting up and managing monitoring solutions
